Why Happiness is the Path to Happiness

Success doesn’t create Happiness

It’s not the path to happiness. But happiness is the path to success. The only reason you strive for anything in life is that you think you’re going to feel good when you be, do or have it. Yet that’s not even possible because if you aren’t happy on the way, then you won’t be happy when you get there.

Only Happiness is the Path to Happiness

Believe me, there are a lot of rich and so-called successful people that are very unhappy. These people thought that being rich would solve all their problems, wave a magic wand and poof, they would be happy. Yet, they’re not. So what’s that about?

They made a fundamental mistake. They thought that moving from one area of unhappiness to pursuing something else, would make things better. But all they got was a different set of problems that caused more unhappiness.

And we’ve all done our own version of this. Didn’t you really, really want that new dress or car or course and when you finally got it, it felt a bit empty? Don’t worry, you’re in good company. We’ve all done that. It’s empty because you were looking to fill a gap. That gap can only be filled by the connection we find through happiness.

Not Everyone is Looking for the Path to Happiness

Now not everyone is looking for a path to happiness. If you’ve never been happy, you may not value happiness or as an abused child you may have a different definition of happiness. But you will always be guided towards true happiness with your inner compass, your Mood Barometer.

Our interpretation of happiness comes from our growth as a child. We learn the definitions of all our emotions from those closest to us. It’s not what they tell us, it’s what they show us. Words don’t teach. We teach by example. So, by your parent’s example, you learned the definition of happiness. If they were well balanced, you experienced a true pattern of balanced happiness, if they weren’t then the messages would have been mixed.

That’s why many people equate working long hours and becoming rich with being happy. it’s not an emotion they’re reaching for, but a pattern. A pattern from their parents that indicated that’s what it took to be happy. Even though, even for the parents, that path to happiness was elusive too.

Happiness Doesn’t Mean ‘Happy Enough’ or ‘Ordinary’

In my extended two decades as a Counselor, people often describe themselves as ‘happy enough’. Which means, sadly they don’t experience happiness very often. They’re satisfied or bored or even just ordinary, but not happy. Some have never experienced the freedom of happiness and others don’t dare to go there, otherwise their lives will look very inadequate causing them to feel discontent. And ordinary is better than discontent afterall.

Yet, innately we all strive for a deep inner connection and happiness. This is a soul connection and not something that’s filled by things or people. So to keep filling the void with outside stuff, only makes the void seem bigger. That’s where ‘happy enough’ comes in.

It’s a gap filler. Just like liquid nails, it holds an ordinary life in suspension so you don’t have to look at it and feel uncomfortable.

Value of Creating a Habit of Happiness

We want to show you the value of creating a habit of inner happiness. Not because we think you should be happy all the time, because nobody is happy all the time. But because you should be able to find the path to happiness anytime you want it. To do that, you just need to create a Habit of Happiness.

It holds the key to everything you’ve been yearning for. Love, joy, freedom, inspiration, opportunities, and connection. And that flows through everything. From work to home. It’s not something people just fall into, it’s a pattern that’s developed and you can discover this formula too.

Become happy and successful because success is very hollow and very lonely without knowing the path to happiness. Yet happiness holds the door open to your dreams.
