5 Manifestation Myths Exposed: Your Tips for Success
Manifestation is a popular concept in self-improvement, but there are many misconceptions about how it works. Below are some of the manifestation myths and also how you can become successful in manifesting your dreams.
Is ‘thinking positive’ one of the manifestation myths?
‘Thinking positive’ is popular rhetoric for manifestation but how many times have you thought positively about something for it still not to manifest? So, there’s much more to the art of manifestation than just ‘thinking positive’, even though of course positivity must play a part. I mean, you can’t think about all the reasons why that pay rise won’t come to you and yet have it fall in your lap.
When we teach people about manifestation, one of the biggest hurdles we face is people not believing that what they want is available to them. They think they’d like it, but they really don’t believe it will come to them. And yet Dr. Wayne Dyer wrote a book called “You’ll see it when you believe it”. This means that manifesting is usually done the wrong way around.
People ALWAYS say they’ll believe when they see it but that’s actually NOT how the universe works at all.
5 Common Manifestation Myths
So here are three of the most common myths about manifestation that we come across, and why they’re not true:
1. Manifestation Myths: it’s easy and requires no work.
Reality: Manifestation requires focused work and consistent effort. While it’s true that manifestation starts with a positive mindset and visualization, it’s not enough to just think about what you want and wait for it to appear. You need to take inspired action and put in the work for it to unfold.
2. Manifestation Myths: it only works for some people, not for others.
Reality: Everyone has the ability to manifest their desires. The key is to believe in yourself and your abilities and to have faith that you can achieve your goals. You need to believe it before you can see it. With practice and persistence, anyone can joyfully master the art of manifestation.
3. Manifestation Myths: is a quick-fix solution to all your problems.
Reality: Manifestation takes time and patience. You may not see immediate results, but as you continue to practice and move in the direction of your desires, you will start to see evidence of your manifestations unfolding.
4. Manifestation Myths: I must keep focused on my goals
Reality: Many people think that they need to focus on their dreams constantly for them to manifest in their lives. But it’s just not true. Often people who focus on their dreams do so with the feeling of despondency that the dreams just aren’t going to come. That’s how we get in our own way and actually stop our dreams from manifesting.
5. Manifestation Myths: I’m successful only when my dreams become a reality
Reality: Manifestations occur in many forms. In fact, we are all constantly manifesting. It’s part of the law of attraction. So manifestation is actually the result of a universal law that we’re working with, often without realizing. It’s not true to say that all manifestations are your dreams coming true, as manifesting is about our inner emotions becoming physical. For instance, when we feel sad, we manifest more situations that make us feel sad. So maybe it’s time to create a new benchmark for success in manifestation.
Why does manifestation seem to work for some people and not for others?
This is a question that many people have asked themselves, but the answer is simple – manifestation is always working in your life whether you’re aware of it or not.
What people usually want to know though is why aren’t they manifesting their dreams? Manifestation is a powerful tool that can help anyone achieve their goals, but it requires the right focus and the right emotions to be successful.
Reasons Manifestation Doesn’t Work
There are several reasons why manifestation may not work for some people which are NOT manifestation myths:
- Lack of Belief: One of the most important aspects of manifestation is belief. If you don’t believe that it’s possible for you to achieve your goals, then manifestation won’t work for you. It’s not a matter of faith, but identity. You believe you’re not the person who owns those dreams but something else.
- Negative Thoughts and Emotions: Negative thoughts and emotions can also hold you back from manifesting your desires. It’s important to be aware of your thoughts and emotions and to make a conscious effort to create the right focus in your life.
- Inconsistent Patterns: Manifestation requires consistent focus and action. Not focusing on your dreams every day, but focusing on uplifting your vibration on a consistent basis is key.
How Manifestation Can Work for You
On the other hand, when manifestation works for people, it’s often because they have the right mindset and approach. Here are a few ways how manifestation can be successful:
Allowing: The opposite of effort is allowing. The MOST important ingredient for manifestation is allowing. This is the path of non-resistance. Allowing the flow of well-being in your life is the number one singularly most important tool you can practice.
- Positive Mindset: When you have a positive outlook on life, you attract positive energy and opportunities. Your thoughts and beliefs shape your reality, so it’s important to focus on positivity and live in appreciation.
- Consistent Focus: Consistent focus on what’s working and taking inspired action is key to manifesting your desires. When you focus on what’s working, you move into the realm of opportunity, bringing your goals closer to reality.
- Gratitude: Gratitude is a powerful force that can help you manifest your desires. When you practice gratitude from a place of consistent appreciation, you attract more positivity and abundance into your life.
Manifestation is ALWAYS working in your life.
The law of attraction is defined by attracting more of what you’re vibrating into your life. So it’s a manifestation myth that manifesting works for some people and not for others because all of us are constantly vibrating and attracting and therefore manifesting. Manifestation is simply bringing something from the non-physical into the physical and even as an emotion, it’s still a manifestation.
If you want to know how to manifest your dreams, just ask yourself what you’re focused on, as that’s the path of your vibration. Not just now but throughout the day and that will give you an insight into whether you’re attracting your dreams or whether you’re pushing them away. Whether you’re manifesting what you want or what you don’t want.
Positive vs Negative Manifestation are not Manifestation Myths
Positive manifestation is a combination of mindset, focus, and approach. If you’re struggling to manifest your desires, don’t give up. Keep focusing on what’s working in your life, take inspired action, and stand in the space of appreciation.
This will help you create new patterns that serve you and you will start to see the manifestation of your dreams. Just as an emotion at first, a flutter of excitement and then more. Remember, manifestation is a journey, not a destination. Enjoy the journey and trust that your dreams will manifest brilliantly.

Who am I?
I’m Gayle Maree, creator of 6 Dimensions of Healing, author, mother, Past Life Therapist and Spiritual Counselor for over 23 years.
Someone once told me (a well-respected mentor) that people need “experts” to live a life they value… and I didn’t believe them.
I thought everybody could do it on their own because I did. I figured out what didn’t work in my life and then I changed it. Actually, I changed me. And it was a LOT of work!
Not because I was trying to impress those that told me I had a ‘bad attitude’ or I had something to prove to people who thought I was lousy at pretty well everything, but because there were aspects of me that even I didn’t like. I wanted improvements in me and my life.
Change Versus Comfort
It was obvious to me that if I didn’t make changes I could expect more of the same in my life as before. The same things that didn’t work, the same relationships that my parents had.
I wanted more. Mostly, I wanted my kids to be proud of me. Damn it, I wanted to be proud of myself.
So, I set about what would be a continuous, amazing journey.
I’ve been with my Spiritual Soulmate over 30 years now and we still work on the relationship, we work on improving us, because we know that whatever we want, to get it we need to be different to how we were.
And I listen so much more now because I value the wisdom of my non-physical guides who have been with me for as long as I can remember.
Now it’s your turn
This is the same path I used to make the changes that led to a valued and prosperous life. So much more than I ever imagined.
The path is laid out in our book 6 Dimensions of Healing
